Number and Structure of Member Companies

At the beginning of June 2012 there were 305 member insurance companies with approx. 213,300 active employees (office staff, sales representatives and trainees).

At that time that was 99 % of the 215,500 active employees in private insurance companies in Germany (excluding insurance brokers). Of the 305 member companies 250 are full members and 55 are guest members. A further 14 guest members are branches of foreign companies and 11 member companies have public status. Amongst our guest members are 3 large insurance agents, some IT- and service providers as well as some associated service companies.
