Europe

German legislation today is largely dictated by European laws. This is equally the case for labour law. Consequently the AGV follows legislation relevant to European social politics for its members and represents the sector’s interests externally at the political level, against other associations and in public.

At European level the AGV reinforces the interests of insurance companies in the sectoral social dialogue in Brussels. The European Commission regularly brings the sector’s European social partners together with the aim of discussing common statements, recommendations and joint actions on sociopolitical topics. The joint statements on demography, digitalisation and teleworking are the concrete results of these joint meetings by the insurance sector. These results can be viewed on the following pages.
