Intersectoral Social Dialogue

The intersectoral social dialogue takes place at the cross-industry level between the Confederation of European Business (BUSINESSEUROPE), the European Association of Craft, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (UEAPME), the European Centre of Employers and Enterprises providing Public services (CEEP) and the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC). The interests of German insurance companies are safeguarded by BUSINESSEUROPE via the Federal Association of German Employers (BDA) in which the AGV is represented in the European Political Committee.

At the intersectoral level the social partners have, through framework agreements, strongly influenced the content of the directives on parental leave, part-time work and temporary employment. With voluntary framework agreements on telework, work-related stress as well as harassment and violence at work, the social partners have been able to avoid regulatory intervention by the European Commission.
