According to the Federal Employment Agency the largest insurance centre in Germany in 2017 was Munich with 30 910 employees. Cologne lies in second place with 24 810 and Hamburg in third place with 19 520. The next largest are Stuttgart (13 730), Hannover (12 340), Düsseldorf (11 000) and Berlin (10 390).
The AGV annually commissions the Federal Employment Agency to provide this specific analysis of the insurance industry. It is based on the Federal Employment Agency’s employment statistics and covers all employees in Germany in work on 30 June.
